Foret – Fashion Accessories made from CORK

Launched in January 2019, Foret – is a PETA Approved Vegan Sustainable Fashion brand. Foret believes that there is no greater designer than Nature and aims to create products that have a positive impact on our lifestyle and environment without compromising on the latest style and trends. Foret’s current collection made from the Natural Cork Fabric is conceptualized in India and handcrafted and designed in Europe. The brand embraces the idea of Sustainable Fashion and provides a portion of its proceeds to grow a forest in rural Maharashtra and also supports our farmers to become financially independent.

FOReT’s world of sustainable accessories is blurring the lines between menswear and womenswear in the form of gender-free jewellery. While there always remained a void in the men’s jewellery segment, FOReT’s new gender-fluid collection will fill in that space. Their versatile pieces in natural Cork are designed for the minimalistic and conscious global citizen.

Foret found their connection with the Cork Fabric, also known as Nature’s Leather. Currently, all of FORET’s fashion accessories such as jewellery are handmade from genuine Cork.

Cork is developed from the bark of Cork Oak Tree that grows in abundance in the Mediterranean region. The Cork tree is harvested every 9 years by gently removing the bark. This sustainable harvesting causes no harm and allows the tree to rejuvenate and it can live up to another 100 years!

This harvested cork is then pressed into a fabric, without the addition of any chemicals or formaldehyde. Some of the wonderful properties of cork are that its naturally water resistant, dust resistant apart from the fact that it’s really light.

The Cork material retains the structure of the bark and is visually attractive and extremely soft. Cork is eco-friendly, water-resistant, dust resistant, hypoallergenic and durable.

The collection is a unique representation of a plethora of sophisticated compositions handcrafted using sustainable materials like stainless steel, earth-friendly metal alloys, and Porcelain ceramic stones.

Chasing Rainbows: New Collection for Kids

Limited edition kids collection is handmade from genuine European Cork thread and 14K Gold plated Matte brushed brass pendants. The pendants are extremely light in weight and have no sharp edges. The clasp is also made from matte Gold plated brass. Cork is hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial, and extremely soft and smooth, making it a perfect accessory for children’s collections.

Foret’s jewellery is handmade in the studio with the utmost care to ensure that they are perfect for the Lil kids. Although they have designed it for kids up to the age group of 3-13 years, they are cute enough to be worn by adults alike as a choker. The charms in the collection are inspired by the animals.
