The Crimson Project: Enactus SVC Students breaking Menstrual Stereotype

Enactus SVC, in collaboration with Punjab Government, organized Menstrual Education Sessions for the students of classes 6th to 12th under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme from 31st May to 10th June 2021 as part of the Crimson Project.  During the Menstrual Education sessions, the organisation reached out to over 200 schools and influenced the lives of over 3000 students in the districts of Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib. It aspires to create a positive impact on society and make it a better place for all. 

The session also witnessed presence of IAS Ms. Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner & IAS Ms. Deepshikha Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, who appreciated the initiative. The District Administration, Rupnagar, would like to thank Enactus Sri Venkateswara College for their efforts in promoting sustainable menstrual hygiene practices in the district”, said Ms Sonali Giri while appreciating the efforts of the team.

Further, the organisation established the Mata Kaur Sahib SHG and offered employment to its women by setting up a reusable cloth pad production centre in Ropar. The aim is to provide women with a sustainable livelihood alternative in addition to producing safe, hygienic and environmentally friendly sanitary pads.

We aim at helping women break through the stereotypes and societal bounds and be proud of themselves. We want to make sure that all women around us are have an access to menstrual products and the confidence of using them proudly.Having the opportunity to empower women and enhance their menstrual hygiene makes us very grateful.
